Is Fairview NJ a Nice Place to Live?

"I love this neighborhood, i’ve lived here my whole life. great neighbors, schools, and extracurricular activities for kids. safe neighborhood."

"This town is one mile from everything you could ever need in Edgewater, has an easy commute to Midtown Manhattan, and is one of the last good affordable places to buy a decent-sized house bordering NYC. Some of the older houses that are in need of TLC are being purchased and rebuilt so there is always new construction increasing the area's appeal. Its a great place to start a family with parks in walking distance, many great child care options and transportation options to NYC. There are also a number of great restaurants nearby and tons of shopping a mile down the hill in Edgewater." -

History of Fairview New Jersey

Fairview's rich history dates back to December 19, 1894, when it was officially established from sections of Ridgefield Township, following a referendum the day before. The borough's inception coincided with the "Boroughitis" phenomenon sweeping through Bergen County, leading to the creation of 26 boroughs in 1894 alone. The name "Fairview" itself pays homage to the picturesque vista it offers of the Hackensack River valley.

Fairview Schools

Fairview Public Schools cater to students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, comprising three schools.

For high school education, Fairview students transition to Cliffside Park High School in Cliffside Park through a sending/receiving arrangement with the Cliffside Park School District. Cliffside Park High School accommodates approximately 1,192 students and employs 93 classroom teachers, resulting in a student–teacher ratio of 12.8:1. The Fairview Board of Education designates a representative to serve on the Board of the Cliffside Park district.

Furthermore, students in Fairview, as well as throughout Bergen County, have the opportunity to attend secondary education programs offered by the Bergen County Technical Schools. These programs, available on a shared-time or full-time basis, include the prestigious Bergen County Academies in Hackensack and the Bergen Tech campuses in Teterboro or Paramus. Admission to these programs is selective, based on a rigorous application process, with tuition covered by the student's home school district.
